Ensuring Accessibility: How Files.com Meets WCAG Standards

At Files.com, we strive to provide a platform that is accessible to all users, regardless of their abilities. We believe that accessibility is not only a compliance requirement but a moral responsibility, and we are committed to ensuring that our web application meets the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards. As part of this commitment to provide an excellent user experience for individuals who need an accessible Files.com web application, we have partnered with UserWay.org for accessibility consultation and we have prepared Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) report version 2.4 based on the latest version of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

We are proud to announce that we have achieved AA compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, the latest version of the internationally recognized standards for web accessibility. 

WCAG 2.1 builds on the previous versions of WCAG 2.0, incorporating new requirements and recommendations for making digital content more accessible to a wider range of users. Achieving AA compliance with WCAG 2.1 means that we have met the requirements for Level AA conformance, which includes all of the Level A requirements as well. 
 
Some of the key changes introduced in WCAG 2.1 include requirements for: 

• Providing better support for users with low vision and cognitive disabilities 
• Ensuring that content is easier to understand and navigate 
• Improving accessibility for mobile devices and touchscreens 
• Ensuring that users can easily navigate and interact with content using a keyboard 
• Making it easier for users to input information, including through voice recognition technology 

WCAG in general is a set of guidelines developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. WCAG guidelines are organized into four principles: perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. Our web application is designed with these principles in mind to ensure that it is accessible to as many users as possible. 

 Perceivable: Our web application ensures that all content is available to users, regardless of their abilities. We use alternative text for images and descriptive links to ensure that users can understand the content on our platform. 

Operable: We have designed our web application to be operable using only a keyboard. This is particularly important for users who cannot use a mouse, including users with motor disabilities. 

Understandable: We use clear and simple language, consistent navigation, and provide clear instructions to ensure that users can easily understand our platform. 

Robust: Our web application is built using web standards, ensuring that it is compatible with a wide range of devices and technologies, including assistive technologies like screen readers and magnifiers. 

 In addition to meeting the WCAG standards, we continually evaluate and improve our accessibility features based on feedback from our users. Our platform includes features such as high-contrast mode, large text sizes, and support for assistive technologies, making it accessible to users with a wide range of abilities.
